Genus Power Infrastructures has fixed October 30, 2026 as the record date for its ₹148.20-crore share buyback, paving the way for eligible shareholders to participate in the tender offer.
The buyback, approved by the company’s board earlier, will be carried out at ₹312 per share and involves the repurchase of equity shares with a face value of ₹1 each through the tender offer route under SEBI’s buyback regulations.
The company plans to buy back up to 47.5 lakh equity shares, representing around 1.56% of its total equity share capital and 6.77% of its free reserves. Shareholders whose names appear in the company’s records as of the record date will be entitled to participate in the offer.
The record date will determine the number of shares that eligible investors can tender under the buyback. The final acceptance ratio will depend on the level of participation and terms specified in the letter of offer.
Share buybacks are typically undertaken to return surplus cash to shareholders and can enhance earnings per share by reducing the outstanding share count. The offer price of ₹312 per share also provides shareholders an opportunity to tender their holdings at a predetermined price.
Genus Power Infra shares settled a percent higher quoting at ₹261.80 apiece. So far this year, the scrip has corrected over 31%.
Earlier, the company’s management reaffirmed its revenue guidance of ₹6,000 crore to ₹6,500 crore for the current financial year 2027, maintaining an 18% margin target on the back of a robust ₹24,000 crore order book as of June 30.
