New AI tool for mutual fund investing: How wealth managers can use it for real-time insights

ZFunds has launched an artificial intelligence-based tool, ZIVA (ZFunds Intelligent Virtual Assistant), aimed at assisting mutual fund distributors (MFDs) and wealth managers in managing client-related workflows and advisory tasks.

The company said ZIVA is designed to function as a support system for distributors, combining research, portfolio analysis, client communication, and workflow execution in a single platform. It enables users to conduct mock client interactions, generate portfolio recommendations, and access real-time market and fund-related insights.

According to ZFunds, the platform also allows wealth managers to record and analyse meetings, with automated transcription and summarisation features that highlight actionable points. It additionally provides contextual inputs based on client history, account activity, and investment profiles.

During a pilot phase involving 500 partners, the company reported that over 5,000 client-ready proposals were generated through ZIVA, along with around 9,000 minutes of mock client meetings conducted on the platform. ZFunds said internal data from the pilot indicated that the tool could reduce distributor workload by up to 60%, particularly in areas such as portfolio analysis and client servicing.

ZIVA aggregates research from authorised sources and presents it in a structured format for distributors to use in advisory work, including goal-based portfolio construction and quick portfolio reviews. It also includes communication tools that generate client-facing messages and marketing content for digital engagement.

The platform supports both text and voice inputs in multiple Indian languages, including Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil and Telugu.

ZFunds co-founder Manish Kothari said the objective is to support distributors with tools that address operational requirements in their daily work while improving efficiency in client servicing.

The launch comes as India’s wealth management sector sees increased adoption of technology-driven advisory models alongside traditional distributor-led frameworks. The company said the role of distributors continues to remain relevant in investor engagement and behavioural guidance.

ZIVA was launched at the ZFunds Founders Summit 2026 in Gurugram and is being rolled out to users on the platform.
