Ageas Federal launches multi-currency life insurance plan in GIFT City

Ageas Federal Life Insurance (AFLI) has launched the Aurum Advantage Plan, which it describes as the first multi-currency life insurance plan offered by a life insurer in GIFT City.

The Unit Linked Insurance Plan (ULIP) allows customers to invest in US dollars, euros or pounds while also getting life insurance protection. The plan offers exposure to international equities, fixed income and gold.

The launch marks AFLI’s entry into Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) and the start of its operations there.

What does the plan offer?

Aurum Advantage offers multiple premium payment options and fund strategies, along with a partial withdrawal facility with no lock-in period.

The plan also provides maturity benefits, loyalty additions and death benefits, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

The minimum investment is $3,000, €3,000 or £3,000, depending on the currency selected.

The plan is available to customers of any nationality, irrespective of residential status, including non-resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), subject to applicable terms and conditions.

Jude Gomes, Managing Director and CEO, Ageas Federal Life Insurance, said the plan combines multi-currency investment options with life insurance protection for customers with international financial interests.

Through its GIFT City operations, AFLI will cater to customers across key international markets, including the Middle East, North America, Europe, the UK, Singapore and Australia.

The company also plans to add term insurance and pension products to its GIFT City portfolio in the near future.
