SEBI Whole-Time Member Amarjeet Singh, speaking at a FICCI event, said financial distribution is much more than just last-mile reach to investors and stressed the need to see greater traction in small SIPs.
Singh said excessive focus on short-term growth could increase mis-selling risks and noted that mis-selling can occur even without investor complaints.
He added that trail-based commissions remain important and emphasised that ethical distribution of mutual fund products is essential.
