Surya Roshni shares tumble as Q4 profit drops amid margin pressure

Surya Roshni reported a 24.4% year-on-year (YoY) decline in consolidated net profit for the March quarter at ₹98.3 crore, compared with ₹130 crore in the year-ago period, impacted by margin pressure across segments.

Revenue from operations, however, rose marginally by 0.8% to ₹2,163.2 crore from ₹2,145.8 crore a year earlier.

EBITDA for the quarter declined 24% to ₹154.3 crore from ₹202.4 crore, while EBITDA margin contracted to 7.1% from 9.4% last year.

The company’s Lighting & Consumer Durables business reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue of around ₹501 crore, up nearly 9% YoY.

The board recommended a final dividend of ₹2.50 per share, in addition to the interim dividend of ₹2.50 per share paid in November 2025. Total order book stood at ₹1,160 crore as of March 31, 2026.

Managing Director Raju Bista said the company delivered steady sequential improvement despite macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties, with revenue rising 12% sequentially and profit after tax improving 23% over Q3FY26. He added that the company remained focused on operational efficiencies, value-added products and stable execution across businesses.

Managing Director Vinay Surya said the company expanded exports across Europe, entered the UK market for section pipes and strengthened its North America order pipeline during FY26. He said the company expects record export volumes in FY27 and sees section pipes as a key long-term growth driver amid rising investments in infrastructure, construction and renewable energy sectors.

Post earning announcements, Shares of Surya Roshni fell sharply on Monday, with the stock closing 11.78% lower at ₹216.80 on the NSE. The stock declined by ₹28.95 during the session.
