The leadership change is part of a broader restructuring of the Allcargo Group, the company said in an exchange filing on Tuesday, September 29. According to Allcargo, the move aims to accelerate growth, strengthen its leadership team and sharpen the focus across its businesses.
Current MD and CEO Ketan Kulkarni will step into the role of Chief Growth Officer, Allcargo Group, effective January 1, 2027.
In his new role, Kulkarni will lead sales and marketing initiatives, with a focus on identifying growth opportunities, particularly across emerging industries, and developing new avenues for value creation across the group.
Both Nehra and Kulkarni will report to Punit Misra, Chief Business Officer, Allcargo Group.
The company said the leadership transition follows the strategic restructuring undertaken after the demerger of the Allcargo Group, which resulted in businesses moving towards more focused leadership and governance structures. Dinesh Lal’s appointment as Chairman of Allcargo Logistics was also cited as part of the leadership realignment.
Who is Vijay Nehra?
Nehra brings experience across financial services, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, e-commerce and technology-led businesses.
He began his career as a supply chain professional at Hindustan Unilever and later moved into senior sales and customer management roles. He subsequently served as Head of Finance at Indiabulls Real Estate and Indiabulls Housing Finance, followed by a stint as CEO of Indiabulls Asset Reconstruction Company. Before joining Allcargo, Nehra was CEO of Ozone Pharma.
He is a Master Mariner and holds a postgraduate programme in management from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and a Bachelor of Nautical Sciences from T.S. Chanakya, University of Mumbai.Nehra said his focus at Allcargo will be on operational excellence, yield improvement and volume growth as the Indian economy expands and creates opportunities across sectors.
Allcargo Logistics’ key business verticals include Express Distribution, Air Freight, E-commerce Logistics and First and Last Mile Delivery, with the company saying its nationwide network covers all districts in India.
Shares of the company ended 2.3% lower at ₹10.57 on Tuesday, taking the stock into negative territory year-to-date. It is down nearly 12% and has fallen about 67% over the last 12 months.
