Anthem Biosciences shares rise 4% after equity worth ₹1,275 crore changes hands in block deal


Shares of Anthem BioSciences Ltd. gained as much as 4% on Thursday, June 18, after a large block deal was executed during the pre-market window.

As many as 1.17 crore shares, representing 3.05% of the company’s outstanding equity, changed hands in the transaction.

The shares were traded at an average price of ₹745 apiece, taking the total deal value to nearly ₹1,275 crore.

CNBC-TV18 had reported on Wednesday that a block deal was likely in the stock, with promoter group entity Aruna Ganesh expected to be the seller.

Aruna Ganesh was looking to offload up to a 3.05% stake in the company through the transaction, valued at around ₹1,314 crore. The floor price for the sale was set at ₹715 per share, a discount of nearly 7% to Wednesday’s closing price.

Following the transaction, Anthem BioSciences shares were trading 3.44% higher at ₹793.90. The stock has gained 25% so far this year.
