APL Apollo Tubes Q1 sales volume falls 6% amid softer dispatches


APL Apollo Tubes Ltd. reported a 6% year-on-year decline in sales volume for the June quarter, with dispatches falling to 744,823 tonnes from 794,350 tonnes in the corresponding period last year, according to an exchange filing.

The company said it sold 7.45 lakh tonnes during Q1FY27, marking a softer start to the financial year after recording strong volume growth through most of FY26. From the current quarter onwards, APL Apollo has also adopted a revised product segmentation framework aimed at enhancing the clarity and relevance of its business reporting.

Under the new classification, the flagship APL Apollo Brand contributed 568,691 tonnes, while the SG Premium Brand accounted for 58,686 tonnes. The company’s UAE operations contributed 25,929 tonnes, while roofing products recorded sales of 91,516 tonnes during the quarter.

The business update comes after APL Apollo delivered a robust performance in the March quarter. The company had reported a 20.9% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹354.4 crore, while revenue rose 13.8% to ₹6,269.2 crore.

Operational performance also strengthened during the quarter, with EBITDA rising 23.9% to ₹511 crore and EBITDA margins improving to 8.2% from 7.5% a year earlier, reflecting better operating efficiency. Sales volume had increased 9% year-on-year and 1% sequentially, highlighting healthy demand momentum heading into FY27.

Following the business update, APL Apollo Tubes shares initially surged to an intraday high of ₹1,799 before paring gains. As of 2:12 pm, the stock was trading at ₹1,768.60, down 1.12% on the NSE.
