Apple share price rallies over 3% as John Ternus succeeds Tim Cook as CEO - Markets

Shares of Apple Inc. advanced over 3 per cent during morning trading as the technology titan officially completed its first chief executive transition since 2011. John Ternus – a 25-year company veteran who previously led hardware engineering teams behind the iPhone, Mac, and iPad lineups – has assumed the chief executive role.

Investors digested the pre-announced handover as an orderly executive succession, rather than a disruptive departure, viewing Ternus’s deep technical background as a strategic asset for the company’s upcoming hardware and artificial intelligence (AI) inflection point.
