Official buyers and sellers in the transaction are not yet known.
On Tuesday, August 18, CNBC-TV18 reported that Centella Mauritius Holdings was likely to sell 7.2% stake in Aster DM Quality Care, formerly known as Aster DM Healthcare, via a block deal worth around ₹4,780 crore.
The floor price for the transaction was at ₹766.1 apiece.
Centella Mauritius Holdings is a special purpose investment vehicle which is controlled by the affiliates of TPG Inc.
As of July 23, 2026, promoter entities held 54% stake in Aster DM Quality Care, while public shareholding comprised 46%. Of this, Centella Mauritius Holdings held 9.9% stake, as per data available on the exchanges.
The seller’s remaining stake would be subject to a 60-day lock-in period psot the transaction.
Aster DM Quality Care reported a net profit of 16.1 crore in the June quarter, declining 81.2% from the previous year’s 85.5 crore.Its revenue increased 21.6% to ₹1,311 crore from ₹1,078 crore.
The company’s earnings before interest taxes depreciation and amortization increased 27.5% to ₹264.3 crore from ₹7.4 crore and EBITDA margin expanded to 20.2% from 19.2% in the year-ago period.
Shares of Aster DM, having made an intraday low of ₹766.1 on Wednesday after the block deals, have recovered from those opening lows, and have now turned positive, to trade at ₹818.95. The stock has risen 35% so far this year.
