Bajaj Finance marks best daily gain in 4 years; ₹53,000 crore wealth created in a day


The shares of the country’s largest non-banking financial company, Bajaj Finance, soared 8.32% on Friday, marking their highest daily gain in the last four years.

The company’s shares closed at ₹1,141.2 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), up 8.32% from Thursday’s closing price of ₹1,095.

As the company’s shares rallied on the bourses, its investors became richer by ₹52,889.5 crore, with Bajaj Finance closing with a market capitalisation of more than ₹7.1 lakh crore.

On the bourses, Bajaj Finance is now the seventh-most valued company in India, after Reliance Industries (₹17.69 lakh crore), Bharti Airtel (₹12.29 lakh crore), HDFC Bank (₹11.52 lakh crore), ICICI Bank (₹10.28 lakh crore), SBI (₹9.48 lakh crore) and TCS (₹8.56 lakh crore).

The stock rallied after the company’s quarterly results, announced on Thursday evening, beat market expectations. Bajaj Finance reported its Q1 FY27 results on July 30, 2026, highlighting a 27% rise in net profit to ₹5,986 crore, a 23% increase in assets under management (AUM) to ₹4,00,389 crore, and improved asset quality, with gross NPA at 0.96%. Its consolidated loan book surged to ₹5.46 lakh crore.

Separately, at the company’s annual general meeting (AGM), Vice Chairman and CEO Rajeev Jain said Bajaj Finance is aiming for a consolidated loan book of ₹6.5 lakh crore by March 2027. This would mean the shadow bank adds close to ₹1 trillion in new loans to its book over the next nine months.These factors helped drive the rally in the stock. According to Bloomberg data, 39 analysts currently track Bajaj Finance. Of these, only five have a sell rating. The average 12-month target price for the stock is ₹1,159.15, while Motilal Oswal and CLSA have both assigned a target price of ₹1,300.
