A clip from ‘Dhamaal 4’ has gone viral, with netizens slamming its poor VFX and claiming Ajay Devgn’s face looks like a cutout floating on water. Users also criticised the choice of background music. The film, directed by Indra Kumar, also stars Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Riteish Deshmukh and Arshad Warsi, among others.

Indra Kumar’s star-studded adventure-comedy ‘Dhamaal 4’ is facing a brutal secondary wave of online trolling after a bizarre one-minute movie clip leaked and went viral across social media platforms. Despite steady domestic numbers at the box office, audiences are aggressively slamming the film’s sub-par visual effects, specifically singling out a scene where lead star Ajay Devgn appears submerged to his neck before emerging victorious atop two whales. Netizens quickly flooded platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to point out that Devgn’s face looks like a static “cardboard cutout floating on water,” questioning his deadpan expression.

What happens in the viral ‘Dhamaal 4’ clip

In the clip, Ajay appears to be nearly drowning, submerged in the ocean up to his neck, with only his head visible above the waves. Sanjay Mishra and a young girl, seated in a boat nearby, are seen encouraging him to keep going. Eventually, Devgn is shown emerging from the water, riding on two whales.

Netizens troll Ajay Devgn over “face cutout”

Responding to the viral clip, one user remarked, “One would think after Dhurandhar, filmmakers in Bollywood would start putting more effort in their works.. but here we are lmao,” while another added, “In a time, when India’s reputation is tanking globally, it’s once soft power behemoth “Bollywood” is making absolute Dog Shit content across the spectrum”. Yet another user didn’t hold back, writing, “Garbage of such epic shit, that Actors will openly shit on it in interviews (Tom Holland).” A section of users insisted the scene used a cutout of Devgn’s face, with one writing, “People thinking its a cut out of Ajay smh Have y’all seen him act before? Aisa hi hai woh,” while another quipped, “This is not a cutout. Ajay Devgan has a wooden face.”Someone else compared the visual to a snake, writing, “Dhamaal 4, what the crap. Its look like an anaconda snake shows its head like they Just Used Ajay Devgan head To Shoot An Entire Sequence.” A user also pointed to Devgn’s own production background, noting, “Koi aur karta toh samajh bhi ata, but AJ himself, being a director, owns a vfx company, should have at least considered shooting for this shot on a green mat.” Another sarcastically remarked, “Give them the Oscar And he has his own visual effects studio.….” One more user expressed frustration, writing, “I can’t even digest this 1 min of clip. How tf did audience suffer throughout the whole movie in the theatres?” On the background music, a user pointed out, “They had 100 songs to choose from and still chose Bella Ciao for background music.”
