BEML shares gain after winning ₹5,400 crore order for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor


Shares of BEML gained on Friday, September 18, after the company won an order worth ₹5,400 crore from the National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL).

The contract is for the supply and maintenance of high speed rolling stock and allied works for the Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) Corridor, the company said in an exchange filing on Friday.

Earlier this month, BEML secured an additional order worth around ₹180.6 crore for the manufacture and supply of Vande Bharat (sleeper) trainsets. It secured the order from Integral Coach Factory.

On August 14, the company had won an order worth $6.65 million from Mauritius to supply BE220G Hydraulic Excavators to deploy across African markets. BEML said it would execute the order in phases.

On August 11, it also won an order worth ₹184.25 crore from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) for the manufacture and supply of light combat helicopter (LCH) fuselage aerostructures.

Last month, BEML chairman and managing director Shantanu Roy told CNBC-TV18 that the company is expecting a stronger performance in this fiscal and he projected around 30% revenue growth for the year.

On the order front, the company is targeting around ₹20,000 crore order inflows this fiscal, subject to the finalization of key tenders. Roy added that the company has order prospects worth over ₹40,000 crore across rail and metro and additional opportunities were building up in mining, defence, construction and exports.BEML shares were trading 2.5% higher at ₹2,064.3 apiece. The stock has gained 4.8% in the past month and is up 11.5% this year, so far.
