Bharat Forge arm partners US military vehicle maker AM General to offer mobile artillery systems worldwide

Auto components major Bharat Forge Ltd on Friday (June 19) said it has signed a ₹425 crore contract with the Ministry of Defence for the supply of Gas Turbine Generators (GTGs) to the Indian Navy for onboard power generation on Kolkata-class ships.

The contract will be executed over a period of five years and has been awarded under the Buy (Indian) category of the Defence Acquisition Procedure 2020 (DAP-2020), the company said.

The GTGs, rated at 1.25 MW, will replace the lower-capacity units currently in service onboard the vessels. The company said the new systems are intended for deployment on Indian Navy ships for onboard power generation requirements.
