For the quarter ended June 2026, the telecom major reported consolidated revenue of ₹58,539 crore, up 5.7% sequentially, comfortably ahead of the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹57,054 crore.
EBITDA rose 6.7% quarter-on-quarter to ₹33,599 crore, also exceeding expectations, while the operating margin improved to 57.4%, marginally above Street estimates of 57.1%.
Net profit stood at ₹8,167 crore, an increase of 11.5% over the previous quarter, although it fell short of the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹8,374 crore.
The quarter once again underlined Airtel’s strategy of focusing on premium customers. India mobile revenue grew 4.2% sequentially, supported by continued portfolio premiumisation and a higher share of smartphone users.
The company added one million postpaid customers, its highest-ever quarterly addition, while also adding five million smartphone customers during the period. Average revenue per user (ARPU) improved further to an industry-leading ₹264, compared with ₹250 in the corresponding quarter last year.
The homes business maintained its strong trajectory, recording 4.4% sequential revenue growth alongside 473,000 customer additions, reflecting continued demand for broadband and convergence offerings. Airtel Business also delivered another steady quarter, with revenue rising 3.2% sequentially, aided by healthy demand for enterprise connectivity and digital solutions.
International operations remained a key contributor. Africa delivered 5.7% constant currency revenue growth, reinforcing management’s confidence in the region’s long-term potential. During the quarter, Airtel completed a share swap transaction that increased its stake in Airtel Africa to over 79%, a move management described as earnings-per-share accretive and strategically important.
Executive Vice Chairman Gopal Vittal said the company had delivered another quarter of strong execution despite an increasingly competitive operating environment. He highlighted robust growth across India and Africa, record postpaid customer additions, continued expansion in the homes business and disciplined capital allocation as key drivers of performance.
Operationally, Airtel continued to strengthen its network and customer base. Smartphone users now account for 80% of its total mobile subscribers, while mobile data consumption rose 36% year-on-year to 34.4 GB per customer per month. The company also added 3.7 million home broadband customers over the past year.
Capital expenditure during the quarter stood at ₹13,386 crore, including ₹9,698 crore in India, as Airtel continued investing in network expansion and digital infrastructure.
