BIJNOR: A wedding in Amroha descended into chaos on Sunday evening when two baraats reached the same banquet hall for the same bride, forcing police to step in and ask the woman whom she wanted to marry. On Sunday, the Sambhal baraat reached the banquet hall first and preparations for the nikah began.W hile the arrangements were under way, the Moradabad groom also arrived with his procession, leading to tension and confusion at the venue as both sides claimed the same bride. Guests and relatives gathered around as the situation escalated, and police were called to prevent a larger confrontation. After reaching the spot, police spoke to members of both families and then asked the bride to clearly state whom she wanted to marry. An officer said, The woman agreed to marry the Sambhal groom with her family’s consent.” Following that, the nikah was completed and the Sambhal baraat left with the bride. Police sent the Moradabad groom and his procession back after bringing the situation under control. “No action was taken,” an officer said.
