Blue Dart Q1 profit jumps 81% as margins improve on strong demand

Blue Dart Expressreported an 81.2% year-on-year (YoY) jump in profit for the first quarter of FY27, driven by healthy revenue growth and stronger operating performance.

The company posted a consolidated net profit of ₹88.5 crore for the quarter ended June 30, compared with ₹48.8 crore a year earlier.

Revenue from operations increased 15% year-on-year to ₹1,657.7 crore from ₹1,441.9 crore.

The fact that profit grew much faster than revenue suggests Blue Dart became more efficient at converting sales into earnings during the quarter.

Margins improve despite higher costs

EBITDA rose 33.5% year-on-year to ₹261.2 crore from ₹195.6 crore.

EBITDA margin expanded to 15.8% from 13.6% in the corresponding quarter last year.

Margin expansion is a positive sign for logistics companies, as it indicates that pricing, productivity improvements or operating efficiencies more than offset higher fuel, employee and transportation costs.

Integrated network continues to support growth

Blue Dart said it continued to leverage its integrated air and ground logistics network, extensive domestic reach and technology-enabled operations during the quarter.

The company added that its focus remained on:

  • Service quality
  • Network efficiency
  • Customer-centric innovation

Blue Dart’s integrated network is one of its biggest competitive advantages. By operating both air and ground logistics, it can offer faster and more reliable deliveries than many rivals, particularly for time-sensitive shipments.Steady execution in a challenging environment

The company said it delivered strong revenue and profit growth despite a challenging external environment and higher operating costs.

Blue Dart’s consolidated results include its wholly owned subsidiaries Blue Dart Aviation and Concorde Air Logistics, which together operate in the integrated air and ground transportation and distribution business.

The company’s ability to expand margins despite cost pressures suggests disciplined cost management and healthy demand from sectors such as e-commerce, pharmaceuticals and business-to-business logistics.

Market reaction

The June-quarter financial results were reviewed by the Audit Committee and approved by the Board on July 31, 2026. The statutory auditors conducted a limited review without any qualifications.

Shares of Blue Dart Express closed 2.01% higher at ₹5,127 on the National Stock Exchange on Friday.

The strong earnings reinforce Blue Dart’s position as one of India’s leading premium logistics companies, with investors likely to watch whether the company can sustain margin gains as competition in the express delivery market intensifies.
