Blue Jet Healthcare raises ₹800 crore via QIP, two institutions get nearly 67% of shares


Shares of Blue Jet Healthcare Ltd. gained on Friday, July 10, after the company’s qualified institutional placement (QIP) issue was closed and approved by its investment and finance committee.

The issue had opened on July 6 and closed on July 9. The committee on Thursday approved the issue and allotment of 1.58 crore equity shares to eligible qualified institutional buyers at the issue price of ₹506 apiece aggregating to ₹800 crore.

Issue price of the QIP is ₹506 per share, which is a discount of nearly 12% from the stock’s closing price on Thursday.

Post the allotment, Blue Jet Healthcare’s paid-up equity share capital stands at ₹37.85 crore comprising 18.92 crore equity shares of ₹2 each from the previous ₹34.69 crore consisting of 17.34 equity shares of ₹2 each.

Only two institutions were allotted nearly two-thirds of the shares reserved as part of the QIP fund raise. These included one systemically important non-banking financial company (SI-NBFC) and the other being a major mutual fund house.

At the end of the June quarter, promoters and promoter groups of Blue Jet Healthcare held 79.81% stake in the company, as per data available on the exchanges, while public shareholders held a 20.19% stake. Of this, mutual funds held a total of 1.72% stake, including ICICI Prudential PHD Fund holding 1.11%.

Shares of Blue Jet Healthcare were trading 3.8% up at ₹596.5 apiece at 9.40 am on Friday. The stock has gained 27% in the past month and 12.8% this year, so far.
