Carysil shares jump nearly 6% as Q1 profit rises 38%, margins improve


Shares of Gujarat-based Carysil Ltd. rose nearly 6% on Monday after the quartz sink maker reported a 38% increase in first-quarter profit, with earnings growing faster than revenue as margins improved.

Net profit rose 37.7% from a year earlier to ₹31.4 crore in the quarter ended June, while revenue increased 15.5% to ₹262.1 crore.

Operating profit also outpaced sales growth. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 22.2% to ₹53.5 crore from ₹43.8 crore a year earlier, while the EBITDA margin widened to 20.4% from 19.3%.

Separately, Carysil’s board approved an ₹18-crore increase in the corporate guarantee extended to HDFC Bank for subsidiary Carysilnox Ltd., taking the total guarantee to ₹55.1 crore.

The additional guarantee will secure credit facilities for Carysilnox as the subsidiary expands its production capacity.

The board also approved the redesignation of Rhea Parekh as Senior Vice President (International Marketing) from Vice President (International Marketing), effective Oct. 1. The change is subject to shareholder approval at the company’s annual general meeting.
