In 2016, Oprah Winfrey bought a US$14 million, 8,700-sq-ft ski chalet in Telluride, Colorado, packed with unusual touches, including a US$70,000 limestone bathtub and a private spa. The real showstopper, though, is her 56-foot wine cave, built to hold 1,600 bottles and installed at a cost of US$240,000, according to an AD report. Graceland, the mansion Elvis Presley once called home and is now a museum, is a wonderfully weird place overall. But if there’s one room that beats everything else for sheer quirks, is it’s the Jungle Room.Elvis added this tropical man-cave to the house back in the mid-’60s. It came with a built-in rock waterfall, green shag carpet, ferns, and dark lacquered wood furniture, basically turning it into his own personal tiki bar at home.Funny enough, Elvis himself just called it “the den.” The name “Jungle Room” only came about later, when Graceland opened its doors to the public in 1982.
