Shares of Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Ltd. fell more than 6% on Tuesday, July 28, before recovering nearly 4% from the day’s low, despite the company reporting a strong set of June quarter earnings.
The NBFC reported a 45.5% year-on-year rise in net profit to ₹1,656 crore, compared with ₹1,138 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
Net interest income (NII) increased 27% year-on-year to ₹4,041 crore, up from ₹3,188 crore a year ago.
Business momentum also remained healthy during the quarter, with disbursements rising 22% year-on-year, while assets under management (AUM) grew 33% from the year-ago period.
Despite the strong operational performance, the stock remained under pressure in Tuesday’s trade, although it pared a portion of its intraday losses.
