Craftsman Automation reported strong year-on-year growth in the September quarter, with net profit rising 68.6% and revenue jumping 47.1%, although operating margins came under pressure.
Net profit rose to ₹153 crore in Q2 from ₹91 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue increased to ₹2,945 crore from ₹2,002 crore, reflecting robust growth in the company’s business during the quarter.
Operating performance also improved, with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) climbing 30% to ₹392 crore, compared with ₹302 crore a year earlier.
However, EBITDA growth lagged the pace of revenue expansion, resulting in a contraction in margins. The EBITDA margin stood at 13.3% in Q2, compared with 15.1% in the year-ago period.
Following the earnings announcement, shares of Craftsman Automation recovered from the day’s low but continued to trade in negative territory. The stock was quoted at ₹10,897.50, down ₹105.05, or 0.95%, on the day.
