The cement maker posted revenue of ₹3,890 crore, ahead of the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹3,768 crore. EBITDA came in at ₹805 crore, beating the estimate of ₹735 crore, while EBITDA margin expanded to 20.7%, compared with the poll estimate of 19.5%.
Net profit stood at ₹192 crore, lower than the CNBC-TV18 estimate of ₹235 crore, as earnings were impacted by a one-time loss of ₹182 crore.
The company’s operational performance was supported by healthy demand. Cement sales volumes increased 8.6% year-on-year to 7.6 million tonnes, exceeding the market expectation of around 7% growth. Cement realisations also improved 8% sequentially.
On a per-tonne basis, EBITDA stood at ₹1,055, compared with ₹1,261 in the year-ago quarter and ₹1,009 in the March quarter.
During the quarter, Dalmia Bharat increased its installed cement capacity to 54.7 million tonnes per annum (MnTPA) following the completion of the acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates’ cement business. The transaction added 5.2 MnTPA of cement capacity and 3.3 MnTPA of clinker capacity across four plants in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh at an enterprise value of ₹2,850 crore.
The company also commenced commercial production at its Chunar Grinding Unit in June, while trial runs began at the Rewa Clinker Unit in July.
