More than a year after its theatrical release, ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1’ is finally heading to Netflix in the US and several international markets.Netflix has announced that the film will begin streaming in the US and additional regions on September 28. The OTT giant shared the update on their official social media handles with a caption that read, “DEMON SLAYER: KIMETSU NO YAIBA INFINITY CASTLE I Coming to Netflix in the US September 28.”The streamer followed it up with another post, “The battle between Muzan Kibutsuji and the Demon Slayer Corps ignites! Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle I cuts its way into more regions on Netflix this September 28.”The announcement comes after the anime blockbuster’s hugely successful box office run in 2025.

‘Infinity Castle’ a massive box-office success

‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1’ became one of the biggest anime theatrical releases of all time following its 2025 theatrical debut. The film earned an estimated an estimated USD 793.5 million worldwide, turning it into a major global box-office success. As per reports, the film’s shattered expectations on its release, shatering records with a USD 70 million debut in North America, according to Comscore. That haul marked the biggest domestic opening ever for an anime film, surpassing ‘Pokemon: The First Movie’.The film extended its record-breaking run, scoring the biggest anime opening of all time with a USD 132.1 million opening weekend, according to Comscore. Crunchyroll and Sony rolled it out across North America and 49 international markets, pushing the global total to USD 177.8 million.

‘Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’ Netflix release: What we know

The film initially remained available exclusively through Crunchyroll in the US following its digital release in July. The OTT release will expand the film’s availability beyond Crunchyroll, which secured exclusive streaming rights for the US following the movie’s theatrical run.While the film is confirmed for a September 28 release for US audiences, the international rollout covers additional Asian markets but excludes Japan, Mainland China and India.

‘Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’ plot

Directed by Haruo Sotozaki, is based on the ‘Infinity Castle’ arc of Gotouge’s manga series. The film sees the Demon Slayer Corps enter the mysterious Infinity Castle for their final confrontation with Muzan Kibutsuji and his forces. They are separated and forced into a series of battles against some of the most powerful demons in Muzan’s ranks.The film marks the beginning of the franchise’s three-part cinematic conclusion, adapting the final chapters of Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga.

‘Infinity Castle Part 2’ in the works

Meanwhile, the ‘Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’ story is set to continue with Part 2. The second instalment is already in development, although details about its release date, promotional campaign and production team have not yet been announced.
