Diwali Muhurat trading session 2026: Indian stock market closed today’s (November 08) special Diwali Muhurat Trading Session 2026 on a lower note. The Nifty50 closed the trade 44 points or 0.18 per cent lower at 24,986.40, while the 30-stock BSE Sensex settled 28.62 points or 0.04 per cent lower at 80,999.40.
The market breadth remained in the favour of bulls. Out of 3,550 stocks traded on the NSE, 2,716 advanced, while 736 stocks declined, and 98 scrips remained unchanged. In today’s session, 89 stocks hit a fresh 52-week high, while 28 stocks were at a new 52-week low.
Sun Pharma’s shares gained the most in the Nifty50, closing 2.96 per cent higher. It was followed by Tata Steel, ONGC, Tata Motors PV, Adani Ports, and many others. On the other hand, SBI Life Insurance, InterGlobe Aviation, Bharti Airtel, Max Healthcare, and Infosys were the only losers in the index.
