'Dog that hasn't barked is Trump': Epstein claim projected at DC hotel ahead of president's media dinner

Video shown in protest at Washington Hilton Hotel

An unusual and deeply embarrassing protest targeting Donald Trump unfolded in the US capital a day before a high-profile White House media correspondents’ weekend dinner, as a projection of an old video clip featuring Trump alongside disgraced financier and sex-offender Jeffrey Epstein lit up a prominent building in a direct attack on the reputation of the US president. The facade of the Washington Hilton, the very venue hosting the elite media gathering, became the canvas for the protest, placing Trump’s past ugly association with Epstein in full public view. The display, visible to passersby and attendees alike, amplified controversy around the relationship at a moment of heightened attention. The video was shared with the caption, “In honour of White House Correspondents Weekend, this video message highlighting Trump’s relationship with Epstein is being displayed on the side of the building where Trump will attend the dinner.”In a blistering critique aimed at the MAGA leader, the message continued: “To date your administration has only released about half the Epstein Files. Of those that have been published hundreds of pages have been blacked out entirely and the names of many powerful men have been redacted, including in some cases your own name.”Continuing the attack at the American commander-in-chief Trump, “where you have been named, the files are damning.” Describing an old email, the video told from the famous Hilton Hotel, “In one email from 2011, Epstein wrote to his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, expressing surprise that you hadn’t yet publicly accused of complicity in his activities.”“Epstein emailed Maxwell saying: I want you to realise that the dog that hasn’t barked is Trump.”According to the video, Maxwell replied to Epstein saying, “I’ve been thinking about that.”In another email from Jeffrey Epstein to Michael Wolff, “Epstein said of you (Trump), of course he knew about the girls.”And then the video attacked Trump, that he recently admitted on Air Force One, “that you were aware young women were being recruited from Mar-a-Lago by Epstein.”But when Trump was asked about one of the woman victim at the infamous island, Trump said, “I think she worked at the spa.”The protest message began with a pointed address: “Dear President Trump, This building is the Washington Hilton Hotel. You’ll soon be arriving here as the guest of honour at the White House’s correspondent dinner. But the fact is you (US President) are right now engaged in a massive cover-up of Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.”The two-minute projection featured a montage of archival footage showing Trump and Epstein together at social events, interspersed with images of heavily redacted documents from the Epstein files, turning one of Washington’s most visible venues into a flashpoint of political controversy on the eve of a closely watched gathering.
