Elliot Page has revealed that he has yet to receive acting offers since the success of Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster epic ‘The Odyssey’. While the film has gone on to earn over USD 1.5 billion at the worldwide box office, the actor has revealed that he has not yet received any casting calls.

During an interview with On Film… With Kevin McCarthy, Page was asked whether he already knew what role he would take on, after the box office success of his film. McCarthy even suggested that the actor must be receiving “a zillion calls”. This prompted Page to say, “No, Kevin, I’m not. So, if someone wants to call me …”

A surprised McCarthy then asked whether the actor really did not have another project lined up. To which, he said, “Not really. I’d really love to do good work. That’s what I’d love to do.”Page went on to say that he may become more proactive about approaching filmmakers himself, explaining, “I was seen in a certain way before and it is different now. I think that’s probably for pretty obvious reasons: the Canadian thing.”Despite the lack of offers, he expressed his hope for the future saying, “I feel like I could maybe do some of my best work now.”
‘The Odyssey’ makes box office history
Meanwhile, ‘The Odyssey’ continues its strong theatrical run. The film added USD 14.3 million at the North American box office over the weekend, while its international haul rose by another USD 48.6 million. Its worldwide total now stands at approximately USD 1.552 billion, making it the 14th highest-grossing film of all time, unadjusted for inflation.
‘The Odyssey’ beats ‘The Avengers ‘
The Nolan-directed epic has also surpassed the lifetime global gross of Marvel’s ‘The Avengers’, which earned around USD 1.52 billion. The film had previously become the highest-grossing R-rated film ever after overtaking ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, which finished its run with approximately USD 1.3 billion worldwide.
