EMS shares gain after bagging Rajasthan sewerage project, it's sixth in a fortnight


Shares of EMS gained on Thursday, September 3, after the company said it has emerged as the lowest bidder (L-1) for a sewerage project worth ₹218.65 crore awarded by the Rajasthan government.

The company, in an exchange filing, said the order covers sewerage and septage management works across six Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and Churu districts in Rajasthan.

The scope of work includes sewerage systems with sewage treatment plants (STPs), along with laying, jointing, testing and commissioning of sewerage networks. The project also has a one-year defect liability period and 10 years of operations & maintenance (O&M), with an execution period of 18 months, the company said.

This is the sixth order the company has secured in the past two weeks.

Stock Performance

EMS shares gained 2.8% to hit an intraday high of ₹397.8 apiece on Thursday. The stock The stock has declined 6.3% in the past month, but has gained 42.7% in the last six months and is down 9.4% this year, so far.T

The stock is trading 34.43% away from its 52-week high of ₹593.85 and is 52.08% above its 52-week low of ₹256.05. The stock has closed in the green in three out of the last 10 trading sessions.
