eMudhra Q2 results: Total income rises 19.6% to ₹209.3 crore, net profit up 26.3%

Digital trust and cybersecurity solutions provider eMudhra reported a 19.6% year-on-year increase in total income to ₹209.3 crore for the second quarter of FY27, compared with ₹174.9 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

EBITDA rose 21.6% year-on-year to ₹51.3 crore, while the EBITDA margin stood at 24.5%, compared with 24.1% a year ago. Net profit increased 26.3% to ₹33.4 crore from ₹26.4 crore in the year-ago quarter. The company’s PAT margin was 16%, compared with 15.1% in Q2 FY26.

For the first half of FY27, eMudhra reported total income of ₹401.8 crore, up 23.4% from ₹325.6 crore in the corresponding period last year. Net profit rose 27.1% to ₹65.4 crore from ₹51.5 crore.

The Enterprise Solutions business remained a key growth driver, with revenue from the segment increasing 36% year-on-year. It now accounts for 66% of the company’s revenue. International markets also contributed 66% of revenue, with the India-to-international revenue split at 34:66.

During the quarter, eMudhra secured its first customer wins in Kazakhstan and Nigeria. Cross-selling opportunities with Cryptas also helped the company add three large enterprise clients in Europe.

eMudhra to exit SSL/TLS certificate business

The Q2 results come as eMudhra plans to exit its SSL/TLS certificate business following a security incident involving its global website security operations in October.

The company said the SSL/TLS business contributed approximately 1% of its global revenue. The incident involved affected intermediate certificates, which eMudhra said it had revoked. It also said no end-entity certificates had been issued by the affected intermediate certificate authorities, its infrastructure had not been compromised and no data had been breached.

The company has appointed KPMG as an independent external reviewer. It said the business potential and return on investment of the SSL/TLS business had reduced considerably when measured against its overall revenue base.

Consequently, eMudhra will cease the sale of TLS certificates and exit the business, while sharpening its focus on its core enterprise platforms, eSign and digital signature offerings, according to its press release.

The company also said it continued to expand its post-quantum capabilities, including hybrid post-quantum certificate authorities in emCA and 33 hybrid post-quantum cryptography certificate combinations in CertiNext.
