Linda Blair, the ‘Exorcist’ star-turned-activist, had more than 70 officials raid her two-and-a-half-acre property in Southern California regarding a kennel operation on Friday, July 31, 2026. Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control and Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning searched the premises after the officials suspected that more than 100 dogs were present. The purpose of the impromptu raid was to assess the animals and gather evidence on the property, according to TMZ. The 67-year-old actress was reportedly extremely cooperative during the 6 am search by the authorities. The search was conducted at the behest of the L.A. County D.A., D.A. investigators, members of Animal Control, Zoning, Building and Safety, and other agencies. Despite appearing as a violation, none of the dogs was taken away, and authorities checked that no one was bitten.“The warrant allows us to lawfully access the property and verify compliance with County codes,” Animal Control said in a statement to the press, per Deadline, and added, “Our priority is the safety and well-being of both the animals on the property and the people who may be working or residing here. This inspection will help us determine whether conditions meet required standards.”

Linda Blair shared a statement clip on Instagram, updating on the last-minute assessment by the authorities. “I am fine, the animals are fine, and we just have some paperwork that has to be dealt with, and that’s all this was all about,” the ‘Savage Streets’ actress expressed in the video, before referencing the unprecedented search, “I don’t know why mail isn’t used more often to notify somebody.”In the caption, Blair mentioned that her email and social media have been flooded with messages. However, the search was just about ‘some paperwork to do and some diagrams,’ and she concluded the text by championing and encouraging others to save lives.
