A block deal took place yesterday in Altius Telecom Infrastructure Trust according to data on the BSE. The large transaction saw CDPQ Infrastructure Asia buy 21.1 crore units at ₹165 each, taking the total transaction value to ₹3,481 crore.
In another transaction that took place soon after, CDPQ Infrastructure Asia was a buyer of another 52 crore units at ₹165 apiece, in a transaction that was valued at ₹8,580 crore.
The combined value of both these transactions stood at ₹12,061 crore. CDPQ is classified as a Foreign Institutional Investor (FII).
BIF IV Jarvis India Pte. was the seller of 52 crore shares in that transaction. BIF IV Jarvis India Pte. is the holding company of Brookfield, and is classified as FDI.
Adjusting for the overall transaction value, the FIIs would end up becoming net sellers in the transaction.
Indian equities ended lower for the third straight session on Wednesday, with the Nifty 50 index closing below the 24,000 mark for the first time since July 29. The index continues to trade in the range of 23,800 on the downside, and 24,200 – 24,400 on the upside.
