State Bank of India (SBI) has appointed Sunil Ramgopal Agrawal, who stepped down as Chief Financial Officer of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) earlier this week, as its Chief Financial Officer (Designate).

Agrawal joined SBI on July 15 and will be designated as a Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) once he assumes office as CFO with effect from August 1, the country’s largest lender said.

The appointment comes immediately after Agrawal’s exit from LIC, where his resignation as CFO took effect on July 14.

At LIC, Agrawal headed the finance function, with responsibilities spanning financial planning, capital management, financial reporting, investor relations and regulatory engagement. He brings more than 27 years of experience in the financial sector.
