FSSAI orders recall of two food products | India News


NEW DELHI: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has ordered recall of two food products after testing found them non-compliant with standards.Recall orders pertain to “Shalimar’s Chef – Coriander Powder” manufactured by M/s Nilgiri Oil & Allied Industries and “Carrageenan” manufactured by M/s Aquagri Processing Pvt Ltd. A sample of coriander powder was found unsatisfactory with respect to pesticide residues. After retesting, the sample was found non-compliant and opined to be “unsafe” under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.The Carrageenan sample was found unsatisfactory with respect to food additives and did not conform to standards. The referral food lab opined that the sample was “unsafe”. Both operators have been directed to recall products from market in accordance with Food Safety and Standards (Food Recall Procedure) Regulations, 2017. TNN
