GFF 2026: Amazon Pay, Kotak Mahindra Bank launch credit card for small business owners

Amazon Pay and Kotak Mahindra Bank have launched a co-branded credit card aimed at sole proprietors and small business owners using Amazon Business.

The Amazon Pay Kotak Business Credit Card will be available to registered Amazon Business users. It combines cashback on business spending with an interest-free credit period, potentially giving small businesses more time to pay for purchases.

For eligible Amazon Business purchases and flight and hotel bookings, the card offers 5% cashback to Prime members and 3% to non-Prime members, subject to a monthly cap linked to the card’s credit limit. It also offers 2% cashback on eligible bills and recharges through Amazon Pay and 1% on other spends.

The card comes with an interest-free credit period of up to 48 days. Eligible purchases can also be converted into three-month No Cost EMI transactions.

The card has no joining fee. Its annual fee is ₹499 plus taxes, which can be waived against eligible annual off-Amazon spending of ₹3 lakh.

The companies said the card is targeted at small businesses that increasingly use digital platforms for procurement and payments. Applications will be made digitally through Amazon Business, with eligible applicants receiving a credit decision within minutes, according to the companies.

The card will also include offers related to AWS credits for services such as cloud computing, data storage and AI.

Amazon Pay said sole proprietors and small business owners account for around 70% of Amazon Business’ customer base.

The launch comes as businesses increasingly use credit cards and other formal credit products to manage short-term working capital. However, the interest-free period and cashback benefits depend on the card’s terms, eligible transactions and timely repayment.

The card was announced at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai on September 9.
