Godrej Industries sells 0.50% stake in Godrej Consumer Products for ₹450 crore


Godrej Industries Ltd on Thursday (September 24) said it has sold 0.50% of its equity stake in Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) through an open market sale for ₹450.12 crore.

The transaction was completed on Thursday, September 24, 2026. Following the sale, Godrej Industries continues to hold 23.23% of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd’s equity share capital, and Godrej Consumer Products remains an associate company of Godrej Industries.

As of March 31, 2026, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd contributed ₹3,989.08 crore, or 35.69%, to Godrej Industries’ consolidated net worth. Its contribution to consolidated turnover, income or revenue was nil.

The company said the sale does not involve a separate sale agreement, with the expected date of completion listed as September 24, 2026, and the transaction marked as completed on the same date.

The buyers have not been separately identified in the disclosure. Godrej Industries said the transaction does not fall under related-party transactions.

The company has also stated that the transaction is not a sale, lease or disposal of an undertaking outside a scheme of arrangement, and the provisions relating to slump sale are not applicable.

Shares of Godrej Industries Ltd ended at ₹1,098.10, down 0.76%, while Godrej Consumer Products Ltd closed at ₹874.50, lower by 0.63%, on the BSE.
