HCLTech to enable South America's first cross-platform eSIM transfer capability

HCL Technologies Ltd has been selected by Brazilian telecom operator TIM Brasil to enable what the companies said is South America’s first cross-platform electronic Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM) transfer capability, allowing customers to seamlessly transfer eSIM profiles across devices and operating systems.

Powered by HCLTech’s Device Entitlement Gateway, the capability will enable TIM Brasil customers to switch smartphones or upgrade devices without replacing physical SIM cards or visiting retail stores. The companies said the digital workflow will facilitate secure eSIM transfers while maintaining high standards of security and reliability.

Enabling digital migration

According to HCLTech, the service will allow users to transfer eSIM profiles between different smartphone brands and operating systems, eliminating the need for physical SIM swaps or manual migration. The rollout is also expected to support the adoption of next-generation mobile services across Brazil.

Commenting on the partnership, Anil Ganjoo, Executive Sponsor of Brazil and Chief Growth Officer and Global Head of Telecom, Media and Technology at HCLTech, said, “As connectivity becomes increasingly software-driven, operators need platforms that simplify service delivery while unlocking new customer experiences.”

He added that the collaboration combines HCLTech’s engineering-led expertise and artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled platforms to deliver interoperable eSIM experiences, while supporting TIM Brasil’s transition towards a more agile, AI-driven and device-agnostic operating model.

Shares of HCLTech closed at ₹1,237, up 0.20% from the previous close on the National Stock Exchange.
