Standalone profit after tax (PAT) came in at ₹623.3 crore, down 2% from ₹638.7 crore in the year-ago quarter and 19% lower than ₹769 crore reported in the December quarter.
The figure also fell short of the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹644 crore.
Revenue for the quarter stood at ₹1,051 crore, down 2.2% sequentially from ₹1,075 crore and slightly below the estimated ₹1,056 crore.
For the full financial year FY26, PAT rose 16% year-on-year to ₹2,859.4 crore, compared with ₹2,461.1 crore in FY25.
The board has recommended a final dividend of ₹54 per share.
Shares of HDFC AMC were trading largely flat at ₹2,648 on the NSE following the announcement.
