HDFC AMC’s net profit for the quarter rose 12.1% year-on-year to ₹837 crore from ₹748 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, while revenue from operations increased 13.6% to ₹1,100 crore from ₹968 crore.
EBITDA increased 10.1% year-on-year to ₹851 crore from ₹773 crore a year earlier. However, the EBITDA margin narrowed to 77.4% from 79.9% in the corresponding quarter last year. The margin decline was led by a 19.2% sequential increase in expenses.
On a sequential basis, revenue from operations rose 4.6% from ₹1,052 crore in the March quarter, while net profit increased 34.4% from ₹623 crore. The sharp rise in profit was aided by a significant jump in other income, which increased to ₹263 crore from ₹12 crore in the preceding quarter.
Total expenses rose 19.2% sequentially to ₹274 crore from ₹229 crore, resulting in a moderation in operating margin to 77.3% from 80.4% in the March quarter, although margins remained at healthy levels. Operating profit was broadly stable on a sequential basis at ₹850 crore.
Profit before tax (PBT) rose to ₹1,089 crore during the June quarter from ₹986 crore a year ago, while total income increased to ₹1,363 crore from ₹1,201 crore. Other income stood at ₹263 crore during the quarter, compared with ₹233 crore in the year-ago period.
Total expenses increased to ₹274 crore from ₹215 crore a year earlier, led by higher employee benefit expenses of ₹144 crore compared with ₹109 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Other expenses also rose to ₹103 crore from ₹84 crore.
During the quarter, the company allotted 2.53 lakh equity shares pursuant to the exercise of employee stock options. It also paid a final dividend of ₹54 per equity share for FY26 following shareholder approval at its annual general meeting held in June.
HDFC AMC also said the cyber-security incident disclosed in May had no material impact on its financial results or business operations during the June quarter, following an assessment and additional cyber-security measures undertaken by the company.
Shares of the company rose as much as 4% before giving up some of the gains. The stock was trading at ₹2,717 as of 3.16 pm, still up 2.15%.
