Hero MotoCorp expands ethanol push with flex-fuel Splendor+ and HF Deluxe

Hero MotoCorp Q4 Results: Profit jumps 30%, beats estimates; ₹75 dividend declared

Hero MotoCorp has unveiled flex-fuel versions of its popular Splendor+ and HF Deluxe motorcycles, marking a significant step in the company’s alternative fuel strategy ahead of World Environment Day.

The new motorcycles are compatible with ethanol blends ranging from E20 to E85 and will initially be introduced in Delhi and select parts of Maharashtra in July 2026, before being rolled out across the country in phases.

The Splendor+ Flex Fuel has been priced at ₹82,710 (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the HF Deluxe Flex Fuel will retail at ₹72,792 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Both motorcycles are powered by a 97.2cc engine that produces 6.3 kW at 8,000 rpm and 8.3 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm when running on E85 fuel. The Splendor+ Flex Fuel delivers slightly improved performance compared with the standard model.

Key features on both motorcycles include flex-fuel compatibility from E20 to E85, a new digi-analogue instrument cluster, side-stand engine cut-off, tubeless tyres, and revised ECU and fuel system components designed to support higher ethanol blends. The motorcycles also feature a new black colour scheme with lime yellow graphics.

The Splendor+ Flex Fuel additionally comes equipped with Hero MotoCorp’s patented i3S idle-stop-start technology.

The motorcycles were unveiled in New Delhi in the presence of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri and Hero MotoCorp CEO Harshavardhan Chitale.

The launch aligns with the government’s push to increase ethanol adoption and reduce dependence on conventional fossil fuels in the transport sector.
