ICICI Bankwill revise charges for select banking services from December 1, 2026, according to an email sent to customers.
The changes include higher charges for cash transactions exceeding monthly limits, revised demand draft fees and an increase in charges for repeated electronic clearing service (ECS) debit returns.
The email details the revised charges applicable to the recipient’s account.
The bank’s website maintains separate schedules of charges for different account categories, so customers should check the schedule applicable to their account before assuming that all the changes apply to them.
ICICI Bank service charges: What changes from December 1?
Demand draft charges
Under the revised schedule detailed in the email, demand drafts below ₹1 lakh will attract no charge. For demand drafts of ₹1 lakh and above, the charge will be ₹2 per ₹1,000, subject to a maximum of ₹15,000.
Currently, the bank charges ₹2 per ₹1,000 for demand drafts drawn on ICICI Bank through cheque or transfer, subject to a minimum charge of ₹40 and a maximum of ₹15,000.
The email lists both the free and paid categories as including ₹1 lakh.
Customers should confirm the applicable charge for a demand draft of exactly ₹1 lakh with the bank.
Cash deposit and withdrawal charges
The email states that the monthly complimentary limits for cash deposits and withdrawals will remain unchanged.
Customers will continue to get three complimentary cash deposit transactions and three complimentary cash withdrawal transactions per month. Beyond these limits, the charge will be ₹150 per transaction.
The monthly complimentary value limit will remain ₹1 lakh each for cash deposits and withdrawals. For transactions exceeding the respective value limit, the charge will increase from ₹3.50 to ₹4 per ₹1,000, or ₹150, whichever is higher.
If a transaction breaches both the number and value limits, the higher of the applicable charges will be levied, according to the email.
ECS debit return charges
The bank will also revise charges for electronic clearing service (ECS) debit returns arising from financial reasons.
Currently, the charge is ₹500 per instance, with recovery capped at three instances per month for the same mandate.
From December 1, the first return will continue to attract ₹500, while the second and third returns will cost ₹550 each. The maximum recovery will remain capped at three instances per month for the same mandate.
GST will apply to all charges mentioned in the email.
