The Income Tax Department has listed several tax compliance deadlines for November 2026, covering tax deducted at source (TDS), tax collected at source (TCS), income tax return (ITR) filing for specified categories of taxpayers and other statutory forms.
The key dates include November 7 for depositing TDS and TCS deducted or collected in October, November 15 for issuing specified TDS certificates and November 21 for ITR filing by certain taxpayers covered under the extended deadline. November 30 is another important date, particularly for taxpayers required to furnish a report under Section 92E.
Regular ITR filing deadlines for most individual taxpayers have already passed. The November ITR dates apply to specific categories of taxpayers and should not be treated as a general extension for all taxpayers.
November 7: Deposit TDS and TCS for October
The deadline to deposit tax deducted at source (TDS) and tax collected at source (TCS) for October 2026 is November 7.
Tax deductors and collectors should ensure that the amounts deducted or collected during the month are deposited within the prescribed timeline.
November 14: Issue specified TDS certificates
November 14 is the deadline for issuing Form 132 for specified TDS deductions covered under the applicable provisions for September 2026.
The requirement applies to the specified categories covered by the form and is not a general deadline for all TDS certificates.
November 15: TDS certificates and other compliance requirements
November 15 is an important date for several tax-related compliances.
Government offices that deposited TDS or TCS without a challan during October must furnish Form 137 by this date. The deadline also applies to issuing Form 131, the TDS certificate for specified non-salary payments for the quarter ended September 30, 2026.
Stock exchanges must also furnish Form 1 for transactions in which client codes were modified during October 2026.
November 21: ITR filing deadline for specified audit cases
The deadline to file income tax returns for assessment year (AY) 2026-27 has been extended to November 21, 2026, for specified companies, taxpayers covered by audit-related requirements and partners of audited firms, subject to the applicable conditions.
The extension was announced through Circular No. 07/2026 dated September 28, 2026. It moved the relevant ITR filing deadline from October 31 to November 21.
This extension does not apply to all taxpayers. Individuals whose regular ITR filing deadline has passed should not assume that they can file under this extended timeline unless they fall within the specified categories.
November 30: ITR deadline for Section 92E cases
November 30 is the ITR filing deadline for taxpayers required to furnish a report under Section 92E for AY 2026-27. The deadline also covers partners of firms in the applicable categories.
Taxpayers covered by transfer pricing provisions should check their reporting and filing requirements and ensure that the relevant return and supporting documents are submitted by the due date.
November 30: Form 141 and other tax forms
November 30 is also the deadline for filing Form 141 for specified TDS deductions relating to October 2026.
Other forms due on November 30, depending on the taxpayer’s circumstances and applicable provisions, include Form 3CEAA, Form 10BA, Form 10E, Forms 3CEFA, 3CEFB and 3CEFC, Form 10CCD and Form 10CCE.
Taxpayers should check the applicable form, reporting requirement and filing conditions before submitting these documents.
