Telangana has approved the construction of 2.5 lakh houses under the second phase of the Indiramma scheme, starting June 1, as part of its push towards making the state free of kutcha houses. Under the plan, the Cabinet has allotted 2,000 houses to each constituency.Alongside this, the Cabinet has decided to provide financial support for incomplete homes, Rs 2 lakh each for houses where walls are completed but slabs are pending, and Rs 3 lakh each for houses that had reached only the foundation stage during the Congress government in undivided Andhra Pradesh.What is the Indiramma Indlu Housing Scheme?The Indiramma Indlu Housing Scheme was launched by Telangana government in 2023 and offers land and financial assistance to the homeless and landless citizens of Telangana.
