Infosys ADR falls over 4% after Q1 earnings, FY27 growth guidance cut

Shares of Infosys Ltd‘s American Depositary Receipts (ADR) fell more than 4% in US trading after the IT major reported June quarter earnings, trimmed the upper end of its FY27 revenue growth guidance and announced a planned CEO transition.

The ADR declined 4.42% to $10.48 in pre-market trading after ending Thursday’s regular session at $10.93 on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). At 7.38 IST, it quoted $10.43, lower by 4.35%.

An ADR is a negotiable certificate issued by a US depositary bank representing a specified number of shares of a foreign company’s stock. It allows foreign companies to easily trade on US stock exchanges like the NYSE or Nasdaq.

On the NSE, Infosys shares had closed almost flat ahead of the earnings announcement, ending 0.08% higher at ₹1,052.90.

Infosys reported June quarter revenue of $5.08 billion, up 0.8% sequentially. In rupee terms, revenue rose 3.9% quarter-on-quarter to ₹48,211 crore, slightly below the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹48,431 crore.

EBIT increased 4.3% sequentially to ₹10,163 crore, while the EBIT margin expanded 20 basis points to 21.1%.

Constant currency revenue growth came in at 1% quarter-on-quarter, below analysts’ estimates of 1.8%. CEO Salil Parekh attributed the slower growth to a one-time impact from a client decision.

Infosys narrowed its FY27 constant currency revenue growth guidance to 1.5%-3% from 1.5%-3.5%, while maintaining its EBIT margin guidance at 20%-22%.

Large deal total contract value (TCV) stood at $3.6 billion during the quarter, with 61% comprising net new deals. The company also said Artificial Intelligence now contributes 8.2% of its overall revenue.

Separately, Infosys named Ashiss Kumar Dash as CEO-designate. Dash will succeed Parekh as CEO from April 1, 2027, after Parekh completes his nine-year tenure.

Chairman Nandan Nilekani said Dash, who is currently based in the US, will relocate to India before taking over the role.
