In a stock exchange filing, the company said the accident occurred on July 14 at its Unit II facility in the SIPCOT Industrial Complex at Gummidipoondi in Tiruvallur district.
The injured labourers were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, while the company said it is extending all necessary support and assistance to the affected individuals and their families.
Jain Resource Recycling said the relevant statutory authorities have been informed and that it is fully cooperating with the investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
The company said operations in the affected section have been temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure.
It added that it is assessing the extent of the damage caused by the incident and will disclose any material developments in accordance with SEBI’s listing regulations.
The company also said the damage resulting from the incident is covered under insurance. It did not quantify the financial impact, stating that the effect on production and operations will be communicated after the assessment is completed.
