The initial rollout will focus on intercity coach operators across India under a leasing model that combines financing, maintenance and charging infrastructure.
The companies said on Monday that the partnership is aimed at lowering the upfront capital requirements for fleet operators by combining vehicle supply with long-term leasing and lifecycle management services. They will also explore opportunities in school transport, employee mobility and airport transit.
Leasing model targets fleet operators
The buses will be deployed through an integrated solution that includes vehicle financing, maintenance and charging infrastructure, enabling operators to transition to electric mobility without purchasing the vehicles outright.
Commenting on the partnership, Nishant Arya, Chairman of JBM Electric Vehicles, said, “The transition to clean mobility must be both scalable and financially viable.” He added that combining the company’s electric bus technology with Drivn’s leasing platform is expected to “unlock scalable adoption of e-mobility by addressing capital barriers” while supporting fleet operators and corporates in their transition to cleaner transport.

Alpna Jain, Co-founder and Chief Business Officer at Drivn, said, “Commercial fleet electrification requires an ecosystem that makes the transition both operationally seamless and financially viable.”
JBM Electric Vehicles said it has deployed more than 3,500 electric buses since entering the segment in 2018 and expects that number to cross 5,000 over the next year. According to the company, its electric bus fleet has collectively covered over 450 million kilometres and served more than 1.5 billion passengers.
Shares of JBM Auto were trading at ₹694.55, up 1.44% from the previous close, during afternoon trade.
