Jubilant Pharmova radiopharma unit to invest CAD 94.5 million to double RUBY-FILL production


Jubilant Pharmova Ltd on Thursday (October 8) said its radiopharma business will invest CAD 94.5 million to modernise and expand its Kirkland, Québec facility and double the production capacity of its flagship product, RUBY-FILL.

The Government of Canada will provide CAD 23.8 million in financial support for the project through the Strategic Response Fund’s innovation funding stream. The investment will also increase production capacity across the radiopharmaceutical portfolio pipeline, according to the company.

Jubilant DraxImage Inc., a subsidiary of Jubilant Pharma Ltd, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Jubilant Pharmova, announced the investment. The company said demand for RUBY-FILL remains very strong, with its customer base doubling over the last three years. The expansion will allow the business to fulfil the increased demand for the product.

Jubilant Radiopharma’s portfolio spans both diagnostic and therapeutic solutions that support precision medicine across cardiology, oncology, and nuclear medicine. Specifically, RUBY-FILL enables the on-site production of Rubidium-82 for cardiac PET imaging, helping clinicians accurately assess coronary artery disease and improve patient

care.

The Technetium-99m (99mTc) diagnostic portfolio supports a broad range of SPECT imaging procedures. These products play a critical role in disease detection, diagnosis, staging, and treatment planning across multiple clinical specialties, including oncology, cardiology, and neurology.

In the therapeutic space, our Iodine-131 products have long supported the treatment of thyroid disease, thyroid cancer and neuroblastoma through targeted delivery of radiation to diseased tissue.

The Kirkland facility is the only site in Canada producing these product categories. The investment will support the modernisation and expansion of the facility, including the installation of state-of-the-art production equipment, enabling Jubilant Radiopharma to double its manufacturing capacity to meet growing global demand for RUBY- FILL.

Shares of Jubilant Pharmova Ltd ended at ₹936.15, down by ₹38.10, or 3.91%, on the BSE.
