The first major deadline falls on June 7, when taxpayers are required to deposit tax deducted or collected during May 2026. Government offices that deduct or collect taxes without producing an income-tax challan are required to credit the amount to the Central Government on the same day.
June 7 is also the due date for buyers to furnish a declaration under Section 394(2) for obtaining goods without collection of tax for transactions undertaken in May.
On June 14, deductors are required to issue certificates under Section 395(4) of the Income-tax Act, 2025, for tax deducted at source under specified categories during April 2026.
A cluster of compliance deadlines follows on June 15.
Securitisation trusts must furnish statements of income distributed to investors, while investment funds are required to report income paid or credited to unit holders for the financial year 2025-26.
Recognised associations and stock exchanges are also required to submit statements relating to transactions where client codes were modified after registration in the system during May 2026.
For TDS and TCS compliance, June 15 is the due date for government offices to furnish prescribed forms where tax deducted or collected during May was paid without a challan. The same date also marks the deadline for issuing quarterly TDS certificates for tax deducted on payments other than salary for the quarter ended March 2026.
Employers are additionally required to issue annual TDS certificates to employees in respect of salary payments and tax deducted during the financial year 2025-26 by June 15.
Tax professionals advise taxpayers and deductors to review applicable obligations well in advance to avoid penalties, interest liabilities or delays in compliance.
