Juniper Green Energy shares list at 9% premium; market cap nears ₹13,800 crore


Shares of Juniper Green Energy made a positive stock market debut on Thursday, August 6, listing at ₹245 on the NSE, an 8.9% premium to its issue price of ₹225. On the BSE, the stock debuted at ₹242, implying a premium of 7.6%.

Following the listing, the renewable energy company’s market capitalisation stood at ₹13,769.8 crore.

The listing was broadly in line with market expectations. Ahead of the debut, Juniper Green Energy was commanding a grey market premium (GMP) of around 10%.

The company’s ₹1,800-crore initial public offering (IPO), which was open for subscription from July 30 to August 3, was subscribed 7.97 times at close. The IPO was priced in the range of ₹214-225 per share and comprised entirely a fresh issue of equity shares, with no offer-for-sale (OFS) component.

Ahead of the public issue, Juniper Green Energy raised ₹539.4 crore from anchor investors, including Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Nippon India Mutual Fund.

According to Narendra Solanki, Head of Fundamental Research – Investment Services at Anand Rathi Shares and Stock Brokers, the company is well positioned to benefit from India’s long-term renewable energy transition, backed by its expanding renewable energy portfolio, strong project pipeline, supply chain investments, digital integration and diversified funding strategy.

The company plans to utilise ₹683.2 crore from the IPO proceeds to repay its borrowings, while another ₹728.7 crore will be infused into its subsidiaries for debt repayment. The remaining funds will be used for general corporate purposes.

Backed by Singapore-based AT Capital Group, Juniper Green Energy develops, builds and operates utility-scale solar, wind, hybrid and battery energy storage projects across India.The company has also commissioned India’s first merchant 100 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Rajasthan and is developing an integrated Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project combining solar, wind and battery storage.

As of June 30, 2026, Juniper Green Energy had a renewable energy portfolio of 7,910.2 MW (10,247.1 MWp) across operational, under-construction, contracted and awarded projects, making it one of India’s top 10 renewable independent power producers (IPPs) by installed and pipeline capacity.

Its revenue is backed by long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with central and state government-backed entities, providing stable and predictable cash flows.

ICICI Securities, HSBC Securities and Capital Markets (India), JM Financial and Kotak Mahindra Capital Company were the book-running lead managers to the issue, while KFin Technologies served as the registrar.
