The company had reported a profit of ₹110 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Revenue from operations, however, rose 4.3% year on year to ₹1,779.15 crore from ₹1,705.46 crore.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at ₹214.8 crore in the June quarter, down 1.7% from ₹218.6 crore a year earlier. EBITDA margin narrowed to 12.08% from 12.82%.
Consolidated total expenses increased 4.9% to ₹1,664.36 crore from ₹1,586.33 crore in the year-ago quarter.
The company reported an exceptional expense of ₹29.33 crore during the quarter, compared with exceptional income of ₹2.51 crore a year earlier.
Kirloskar Industries said the exceptional expense comprised stamp duty and associated costs incurred in connection with the merger of ISMT with its subsidiary, Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Ltd.
Sequential performance
On a sequential basis, profit attributable to owners fell 23.9% from ₹44.26 crore in the March 2026 quarter. Revenue from operations declined 2.6% from ₹1,827.41 crore.
Total expenses fell 2.8% sequentially from ₹1,712.12 crore.

Kirloskar Industries functions as a core investment and holding company within the Kirloskar Group. It manages group investments, operates wind-energy generation projects and has exposure to commercial real estate through its subsidiary Avante Spaces.
In its 2026 annual report, the company highlighted the value created by its investment portfolio. The market value of its investments stood at about ₹6,944 crore at the end of FY26, compared with a book value of ₹888 crore.
Its portfolio includes a 45.93% stake in Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Ltd. (KFIL), its largest disclosed investment holding, along with stakes in Kirloskar Brothers, Kirloskar Pneumatic Company and Kirloskar Oil Engines.
Kirloskar Industries’ holding in KFIL had a market value of ₹2,642.32 crore at the end of FY26, compared with an investment cost of ₹374.12 crore.
The company said its book value per share increased to ₹4,672 from ₹783 over the past decade, while its portfolio companies generated ₹67 crore in dividend income during FY26.
Shares of Kirloskar Industries ended 3.02% higher at ₹3,835 on the National Stock Exchange following the June-quarter results.
