Linde India Q1 profit slips 2% despite 22% revenue growth as margins shrink


Linde India reported a mixed performance for the June quarter, with revenue rising more than 21% from a year earlier but profit declining slightly as operating margins narrowed.

The industrial gases company reported a 2.4% year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit to ₹104.6 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with ₹107.2 crore in the year-ago period.

Revenue from operations rose 21.6% year-on-year to ₹694.4 crore from ₹571.1 crore.

Operating performance was relatively subdued compared with the growth in revenue. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 1.8% to ₹200.6 crore from ₹197 crore a year earlier.

EBITDA margin consequently narrowed sharply to 28.9% from 34.5% in the corresponding quarter last year.

Linde India appoints new CFO

Separately, Linde India’s board approved the appointment of Vikash Dokania as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from September 15, 2026.

Dokania will take over from Ajay Kumar Sah, who will step down as Interim CFO at the close of business on September 14. The appointment was approved based on recommendations from the board’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee and Audit Committee.

According to the company’s disclosure, Dokania, 42, is a B.Com. (Hons.) graduate and a qualified Chartered Accountant. He has experience across commercial finance, business planning, investment management and corporate strategy.

His experience includes financial management, capital allocation, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments and large-scale domestic and international projects. He has also worked in financial reporting, governance, regulatory compliance and cross-border operations, including oversight of overseas subsidiaries and joint ventures.

Before joining Linde India, Dokania worked with Coca-Cola India Pvt. Ltd.

Linde India shares closed 1.36% lower at ₹6,952 on the NSE on August 11.
